BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE POLICE CHIEF TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT SETTING
FORTH TERMS UNDER WHICH THE CITY OF CAMPBELL MAY ACCEPT THE
ORGANIZED RETAIL THEFT GRANT FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA —
BOARD OF STATE AND COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$400,562 AND APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT TO RECOGNIZE THE
GRANT REVENUE AND GRANT RELATED EXPENDITURES
WHEREAS, the State of California Board of State and Community Corrections
(BSCC) provides grant funds for.Organized Retail Theft and Auto Theft to address the
increase in these crimes within the state; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department submitted a project proposal through a
competitive grant process; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell applied for the grant to increase the number of
ALPR cameras, support the existing Drone as First Responder program, and add cloud
based real time information center software to improve police response and investigative
capabilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell was awarded $400,562 by BSCC for
reimbursement for the aforementioned; and
WHEREAS, the BSCC requires an agreement to address their obligations and
liabilities related to the grant funds as shown in Exhibit B to this resolution; and
WHEREAS, a budget adjustment shown as Exhibit C is necessary to recognize
the grant revenue and grant related expenditures.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves and authorizes
the Police Chief to execute an agreement setting forth terms under which the City of
Campbell may accept the Organized Retail Theft Grant from the State of California —
Board of State and Community Corrections set forth in the Agreement and Exhibit B
attached to this Resolution; and the Finance Director is authorized to implement a budget
adjustment shown as Exhibit C and incorporated by reference to recognize grant revenue
of $400,562 from the BSCC ORT Grant and grant related expenditures of $400,562
through Fiscal Year 2026.
