RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING
SPECIFICATIONS FOR AND AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF REQUEST FOR
PROPOSALS (RFP) FOR PREPARATION OF A PARK AND RECREATION MASTER
PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell is expecting residential growth that will result in
additional park and recreation needs for residents;
WHEREAS, the City does not have an existing Park and Recreation Master Plan;
WHEREAS, City Council prioritized funding for the preparation of a Park and Recreation
Master Plan;
WHEREAS, a Master Plan document will define the needs and goals of our community
in relation to parks, open space and recreation facilities;
WHEREAS, existing park systems, facilities and recreation programming will be
examined, and the plan will provide guidance for improvements, preservation and
expansion for the future;
WHEREAS, the plan will provide a long-term vision for the City's park system and
recreation facilities;
WHEREAS, the plan will include a funding strategy to support priorities and
recommendations derived from the plan; and
WHEREAS, the City has budgeted $200,000 in the FY24 Operating Budget for this
purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Campbell authorizes the
Recreation and Community Services Director to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for
the preparation of a Park and Recreation Master Plan.
