RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) DJI MATRICE M3OT
DOCKS UTILIZING ORGANIZED RETAIL THEFT AND SUPPLEMENTAL LAW
ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FUND GRANT FUNDS
WHEREAS, The.Campbell Police Department applied for an Organized Retail Theft
Grant through the State of California Board of State and Community Corrections to
address Organized Retail Theft and Auto Theft and was awarded $400,562; and
WHEREAS, the Campbell Police Department's proposal included expansion of the
Drone as First Responder Program (DFR); and
WHEREAS, the DFR program is consistent with the City's goal of adopting technologies
that enhance public safety, improve officer efficiency and solve crimes; and
WHEREAS, the police department has identified the purchase of two (2) DJI Matrice
M3OT Docks as the equipment needed to accomplish this goal; and
WHEREAS, the addition of this technology will allow the department to test emerging
technologies that will advance the use of Unmanned Ariel Systems in law enforcement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
adopt a resolution approving the purchase of two DJI Matrice M3OT Docks and
associated equipment using the Organized Retail Theft (ORT) and Supplemental Law
Enforcement Services Fund (SLESF) grant funds.
