CC Resolution 13118 - Amending Classification and Salar Plan to Add Emergency Services Coordinator Position RESOLUTION NO. 13118 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN TO ADD THE EMERGENCY SERVICES COORDINATOR POSITION WHEREAS, The City Manager is required by Section 2.12.030 of the Campbell Municipal Code to prepare and submit to the City Council recommendations for the reorganization of offices, departments, and positions which are considered to be in the best interest of efficient, effective, and economical conduct of the municipal services provided by the City; and WHEREAS, Title 2, Section 2.16.020 of the Campbell Municipal Code provides that the City Council may, from time to time, by resolution, change the compensation of employees of said City, and may, by resolution, adopt salary and wage scales; and WHEREAS, a review has been conducted; and WHEREAS, an amendment to the current Classification and Salary Plan is needed to meet the requirements of Campbell Municipal Code Section 2.12.030; and WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 Adopted Budget includes funding for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Emergency Services Coordinator position, aligning with the Council Priority for Community Health and Safety; and WHEREAS, there is currently no existing job classification and salary plan for an Emergency Services Coordinator; and WHEREAS, to facilitate a recruitment, a new job classification and salary plan has been created for Council consideration and approval by way of resolution, as outlined in the City of Campbell (City) Personnel Rules and Regulation Section 3.0 - Classification Plan; and WHEREAS, the Emergency Services Coordinator classification will play a pivotal role in the City's emergency services programs; and WHEREAS, the proposed job classification for Emergency Services Coordinator falls in line with best practice for municipalities to have drafted job descriptions for all positions, whether they are full-time permanent or temporary roles; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby approve: 1. the adoption of a new job classification for Emergency Services Coordinator, recognizing the importance of this role in addressing the City's emergency services programs; and 2. the establishment of a new salary range for the Emergency Services Coordinator position, commensurate with the responsibilities and qualifications required for this crucial role.
