RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING
THE INSTALLATION OF A KOASTRONG KINDNESS ROCK GARDEN TO BE
PLACED AT EDITH MORLEY PARK
WHEREAS, fostering community connections and promoting kindness are essential for
the well-being and cohesion of our City; and
WHEREAS, incorporating natural elements into public spaces can enhance the aesthetic
appeal and provide a serene environment for community members to enjoy; and
WHEREAS, a kindness rock garden is an inclusive art, visual art, and therapeutic art that
allows individuals to take one, leave one or share one when they visit; and
WHEREAS, KOASTRONG a Childhood Cancer Organization in Campbell would like to
perpetuate kindness and compassion in Campbell, while honoring the spirit of life, love,
and memory of Kekoa "Koa" Pagan; and
WHEREAS, Edith Morley Park has been identified as a location that is more passive in
nature where a rock garden could be placed; and
WHEREAS, a tree well has been proposed as the location of a kindness rock garden that
does not require any additional containment efforts; and
WHEREAS, the kindness rock garden will be filled in collaboration with local volunteer
organizations; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Campbell authorizes the
installation of a KOASTRONG Kindness Rock Garden at Edith Morley Park in Campbell.
