A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
HONORING CAPT. TYRONE CHEW ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT
FROM SANTA CLARA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Capt. Tyrone ("Ty") Chew has completed almost 30 years of fire service with the
City of Campbell;
WHEREAS, he has organized and managed the successful annual Campbell Toy Program since
1998;
WHEREAS, the Toy Program is unique in that it benefits local Campbell families;
WHEREAS, in 2003, his Toy Program donated toys and other items to 1,076 children from 747
families;
WHEREAS, the Toy Program has raised at least $1,000 to each of the following organizations:
Campbell Education Foundation, Heritage Theatre, Campbell Museum Foundation, Campbell
Recreation and Community Center Scholarship Fund, and D.A.R.E. program;
WHEREAS, the success of the Campbell Toy Program is due in large part to the leadership and
commitment of Capt. Chew; and
WHEREAS, over the years Capt. Chew has always supported and befriended City of Campbell
staff and elected officials.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council and staff of the City of
Campbell express their deepest appreciation to Capt. Ty Chew for his years of public service to
the County of Santa Clara and to the City of Campbell, and wish him well on his retirement.
