A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING RICHARD AMARO FOR THIRTY YEARS OF SERVICE
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro was hired by the City of Campbell on Apri11, 1974; and
WHEREAS, during his thirty years of service, Rick Amaro has risen through the ranks of the Public
Works Department Maintenance Division serving as a Maintenance Man I from 1974 to 1975, as a
Maintenance Worker I from 1975 to 1982, as a Maintenance Worker II from 1982 to 1993, as a Street
Maintenance Lead Worker from 1993 to present, and is currently filling in as the "Acting Street Maintenance
Supervisor;" and
WHEREAS, Rick Amaro oversees the maintenance of the City's streets and sidewalks as well as the
installation and maintenance of public right-of-way signing and striping; and
WHEREAS, Rick Amaro administers and oversees the annual street sweeping contract; and
WHEREAS, Rick Amaro is the City's liaison to the West Valley Sanitation District program to
inspect and maintain the City's storm drain system resulting in the system operating at its highest level of
efficiency; and
WHEREAS, Rick Amaro has been commended for his emergency response efforts both during and
after hours; which often involved traffic control set up or debris/spill cleanup; and
WHEREAS, Rick Amaro can be counted on to work cooperatively with other divisions and
departments to ensure the success of major projects and special events; and
WHEREAS, Rick Amaro's long tenure with the City provides an important source of departmental
knowledge and practical experience; and
WHEREAS, Rick Amaro has been repeatedly recognized by the City Manager's office for his
minimal use of sick time; and
WHEREAS, Rick Amaro was commended by the Council for his heroic efforts to successfully save
a dog's life; and
WHEREAS, Rick Amaro has been instrumental in the organization of the City's annual turkey
donation drive to Saint John Vianney Parish Community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby
expresses its appreciation to Richard Amaro for thirty years of loyal and valuable service and best wishes
for continued success and achievement.
