A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING LYNN MARIE PENOYER FOR THIRTY-FIVE
YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF CAMPBELL UPON HER RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Lynn Marie Penoyer was hired by the City of Campbell on November 24, 1969;
and
WHEREAS, during her thirty-five years of service, Lynn Penoyer has had eight titles,
serving 24 years in the Engineering Division of Public Works, 11 years in the Maintenance Division,
and currently holds the title of Land Development and Environmental Programs Manager; and
WHEREAS, Lynn Penoyer was instrumental in setting up the City's first pavement
management information system; and
WHEREAS, Lynn Penoyer has served as staff advisor to the Parks and Recreation
Commission and West Valley Solid Waste Management Authority; and
WHEREAS, Lynn Penoyer has represented the City well on the Water Resources Protection
Collaborative, Santa Clara Valley Urban Runoff Pollution Prevention Program, West Valley Clean
Water Program, County Recycling and Waste Reduction Commission Technical Advisory
Committee; and County Household Hazardous Waste Committee; and
WHEREAS, Lynn Penoyer was recognized by the City Council on October 19, 1999, as the
San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Maintenance Superintendents Association 1999-2000 Public Works
Superintendent of the Year and was elected 2000/2001 Chapter President - the first woman to
achieve each honor; and
WHEREAS, Lynn Penoyer is responsible for the City's environmental programs, including
solid waste, recycling, clean water and hazardous waste disposal; and
WHEREAS, Lynn Penoyer has overseen the City's Land Development function for nearly
four years; and
WHEREAS, Lynn Penoyer is one of only five Public Works employees to reach the thirty-
five year milestone; and
WHEREAS, Lynn Penoyer has encyclopedic knowledge of the City's Public Works
facilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby expresses its appreciation to Lynn Marie Penoyer for thirty-five years of loyal and valuable
service and best wishes for a fulfilling retirement.
