A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE
THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT PROVIDING FOR
IMPLEMENT A nON OF THE SANTA CLARA V ALLEY URBAN RUNOFF
POLLUTION PREVENTION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, in 1990, the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board
(RWQCB) issued a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) storm water
permit to all municipalities in Santa Clara County that discharge storm water to San Francisco
Bay, Santa Clara County, and the Santa Clara Valley Water District as co-permittees; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid NPDES permit has been reissued to the co-permittees at five-
year intervals since; and
WHEREAS, in 1999, the City Council authorized the Public Works Director to execute
an agreement providing for the implementation of the Santa Clara Valley Urban Runoff Pollution
Prevention Program (SCVURPPP) to provide for the orderly and systematic compliance with the
area-wide provisions of the NPDES storm water permit, to enhance efficiency, and to allow cost-
share savings to be redirected into local program implementation; and
WHEREAS, the agreement provided for a five-year term which is set to conclude on or
about March 10,2005; and
WHEREAS, the co-permittees desire to extend the term of the agreement as set forth
below; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the Public Works Director execute the First Amendment to Agreement
Providing for Implementation of the Santa Clara Valley Urban Runoff Pollution Prevention
Program to extend the term of the agreement until such time the parties to the agreement
terminate the agreement in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
