A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA AND THE CITY OF CAMPBELL FOR
THE ENCROACHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF FACILITIES RELATING TO
THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA TRAFFIC OPERATIONS SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the County of Santa Clara's Measure B-funded Lawrence Almaden Traffic
Operations System (TOS) project will provide the County with a fiber optic system that links all
of the expressways to the County's Traffic Operations Center (TOC) located at 1505
Schallenberger Road in San Jose; and
WHEREAS, the project scope includes the installation of fiber optic conduits, cables, and
pull boxes in Campbell right-of-way along the north side of West Campbell Avenue between San
Tomas Expressway and the west city limits; and
WHEREAS, the County is required to apply for a City encroachment permit to construct
the Lawrence Almaden TOS Project within the City's right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, Campbell Public Works Department staff have reviewed and approved the
County's project plans and specifications; and
WHEREAS, the attached Encroachment Agreement (Agreement) identifies the County of
Santa Clara's responsibilities with regards to installing and maintaining TOS facilities in City
right-of-way.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the attached Agreement between the County of
Santa Clara and the City of Campbell for the encroachment and maintenance of facilities relating
to the County of Santa Clara Traffic Operations System.
