RESOLUTION NO. 10313
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING SERGEANT STEPHEN R. HARTJE
ON HIS 18 YEARS OF SERVICE
TO THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
WHEREAS, Sergeant Stephen R. Hartje's career with the City of Campbell began as a Police
Officer on May 19, 1986;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Hartje was promoted to Police Agent on March 2, 1992;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Hartje was promoted to Sergeant on March 10, 1997;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Hartje worked in the Special Enforcement Division as the Sexual Assault
and Juvenile Investigator for three years;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Hartje served as Explorer Advisor for over seven years;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Hartje served in the capacity ofField Training Officer (FTO) for several
years and as FTO Supervisor for two years;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Hartje served on the Hostage Negotiations Team (HNT) as a member and
supervisor for over 10 years;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Hartje was known throughout the Police Department for his knowledge of
and interest in customer service;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Hartje has received over 50 letters of commendation from both citizens and
the Police Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED that the Campbell City Council recognizes and
commends Sergeant Stephen R. Hartje on his retirement from the City of Campbell Police Department after
18 years of service.
