A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL CITY COUNCIL APPROVING A
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AND THE SANTA CLARA VALLEY WATER DISTRICT PROVIDING A
FRAMEWORK FOR A PROJECT MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT WHEREBY THE
CITY WOULD MANAGE THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF AN
EXTRACTION WELL PROJECT AT 555 W. CAMPBELL AVENUE
WHEREAS, The Campbell Redevelopment Agency (the" Agency") desires to facilitate
an affordable housing project at 555 W. Campbell Avenue (the "Property"), owned by the
Santa Clara Valley Water District (the "Distict. "); and
WHEREAS, the District desires to construct and maintain extraction wells on the
Property and sell the balance to the Agency for affordable housing; and
WHEREAS, in the interest of time and mutual cooperation, the District is willing to
contract with the City of Campbell (the "City") to manage the design and construction of the
extraction well project (the "District Project"); and
WHEREAS, for the reasons stated in the Memorandum of Understanding (the
"MOU"), this regional cooperation is mutually beneficial and constructive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Campbell City Council
authorizes the following:
1.
The execution of the MOU by the City Manager in substantial form with
the one on file with the City Clerk establishing a framework for
preparation of a Project Management Agreement for the City to manage
the design and construction of the District Project at 555 W. Campbell
Avenue.
2.
Authorize the Public Works Director to negotiate a professionals services
contract with Luhdorff & Scalmanini, Consulting Engineers to perform
the Conceptual Alternatives Study (the "Study") pursuant to the MOD.
3.
Authorize a budget adjustment in the amount of $50,000, to be funded
by the District, to establish a capital project for the District Project in the
City's Capital Improvement Program.
