A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL CITY COUNCIL APPROVING THE
CONCEPTUAL PLAN FOR AINSLEY PARK IMPROVEMENTS, AUTHORIZING THE
PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO PREPARE THE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND
ENGINEERING, AND TO AUTHORIZE PREPARING AND ISSUING A REQUEST FOR
QUALIFICATIONS TO PROVIDE PUBLIC ART IN AINSLEY PARK
WHEREAS, On October 1 2002 the City of Campbell Redevelopment Agency Board
authorized staff to have prepared a conceptual plan for the re-design of Ainsley Park; and
WHEREAS, the goals and objectives of the re-design are to create a more useful and
functional public space as well as to facilitate a pedestrian connection between the adjacent residential
neighborhood, downtown and the downtown light rail station while maintaining parking; and
WHEREAS, the incorporation of public art in the park will further its cultural arts goals and
compliment the conceptual plan to provide a better public space in benefit of the downtown and the
community; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Campbell City Council
authorizes the following:
1.
Approval of the Conceptual Plan for the Ainsley Park Improvements as shown
in Attachment 3 of the staff report.
2.
Authorize the Public Works Director to prepare the plans, specifications and
engineering for the Ainsley Park Improvements.
3.
Authorize the preparation and issuance of a Request For Qualifications (RFQ)
for public art to be incorporated into the Ainsley Park Improvements.
