CC Resolution 10381 RESOLUTION NO. 10381 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL CITY COUNCIL COMMEMORATING THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE OPENING OF THE AINSLEY HOUSE AS A HISTORIC HOUSE MUSEUM WHEREAS, in September 1994, the Ainsley House was first opened to the public as a historic house museum; and WHEREAS, Geraldine Hicks and Georgene Bowen together donated this 1925 English Tudor Revival home to the City of Campbell; and WHEREAS, the historic house was moved from the corner of Bascom Avenue and Hamilton Avenue to the Civic Center; and WHEREAS, the Ainsley House today is a landmark for the City and a source of great community pride; and WHEREAS, the Ainsley House roof, which is nearly SO-years old, requires a new roof; and WHEREAS, the City and the Campbell Historical Museum & Ainsley House Foundation together are working to raise funds to replace the roof; and WHEREAS, a joint City and Foundation Board committee are planning a Gala Celebration on September 25, 2004 to commemorate a decade-long history of the Ainsley House as a historic house museum; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Campbell: 1. Commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the Opening of the Ainsley House; and Honors and recognizes the contribution of its original owner, John Colpitts Ainsley and his wife Alcinda, as pioneers of Campbell; and Recognizes Saturday, September 25, 2004 as a day to honor the memory of J.C. Ainsley and the Ainsley Packing Company and to celebrate a decade since the house's re-opening. 2. 3.
