RESOLUTION NO. 10467
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COm~CIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE ANNUAL
STREET SWEEPING CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZING THE
PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO SOLICIT BIDS
WHEREAS, on May 4,2004, the City Council of the City of Campbell awarded the
Street Sweeping contract to Don & Mike's Sw(~ping; and
WHEREAS, the existing contract with Don & Mike's Sweeping allowed for three
(3) one year extensions; however, the contractor is requesting a 50% increase in next year's
2005/2006 contract; and
WHEREAS, the increase is higher than the next two lowest bids received in FY
2004/2005; and
WHEREAS, staff estimates that the cost of scheduled sweeping is anticipated at
$90,207.68 with additional increases in fud and operating costs; therefore, a formal bid
process will have to be undertaken.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE~OLVED by the City Council of the City of
Campbell that the specifications for contnh't street sweeping services entitled SC05-074,
Annual Street Sweeping, are hereby appro\~d, and that the Public Works Director, or his
designee, is authorized to give notice inviting sealed proposals for said annual street
sweeping contract in the manner and for the time prescribed by law.
