RESOLUTION NO. 10489 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING THAT THE WEST V ALLEY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY MODIFY SOLID WASTE COLLECTION RATES WHEREAS, in 1983 the cities of Campbell, Los Gatos, Saratoga and Monte Sereno entered into identical 20-year Franchise Agreements with Green Valley Disposal Company for collection and disposal of solid waste, and WHEREAS, in 1997 this Franchise Agreement was extended until February 2007; and WHEREAS, in March 1997 Campbell and the West Valley cities of Los Gatos, Saratoga and Monte Sereno entered into an agreement creating the West Valley Solid Waste Management Authority (WVSWMA) to manage solid waste agreements and adjust rates for each member as necessary to provide sufficient revenues for the agreed services; and WHEREAS, the Campbell City Council last approved solid waste collection rate adjustments in July 2003; and WHEREAS, additional revenues will be necessary to cover the cost of collection and disposal services during the remaining portion of the Franchise Agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby recommends that the West Valley Solid Waste Management Authority adjust solid waste collection rates as shown on the attached Exhibit A.
