CC Resolution 10508 RESOLUTION NO. 10508 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING THE QUINQUENNIAL (5-YEAR) SPEED SURVEY AND RECOMMENDATIONS WHEREAS, enforcement of speed limits in the City of Campbell requires that speed limits be based on recent speed and traffic engineering studies; and WHEREAS, the State of California Vehicle Code Section 40802(b) requires that these surveys be performed every five years; and WHEREAS, the surveys previously approved by the City Council were performed in 2000 and will expire in the Year 2005; and WHEREAS, all streets were surveyed in Years 2004 and 2005 that are currently classified as collectors or arterials on the latest (1992) maps submitted to the Federal Highway Administration by the California Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, all other streets have a default or prima facie speed of 25 miles per hour and are not required to be surveyed, unless safety considerations dictate a lower speed; and WHEREAS, a comparison of the speed survey results for 2000 and 2005 shows reasonable consistency; and WHEREAS, no changes in the posted speed limits are recommended. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the City Council hereby approves the attached 2005 Quinquennial Speed Survey and recommended prima facie speed limits.
