A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS; AUTHORIZING CALL FOR BIDS; AND
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO AWARD AND EXECUTE THE
CONTRACT FOR THE LOS GATOS CREEK TRAIL BIKE TRAIL IMPROVEMENT-
CAMDEN AVENUE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT NO. 02-09
WHEREAS, the Cooperative Agreement between the City of Campbell and VT A
has been executed and requires completion of the project by June 30, 2006; and
WHEREAS, the adopted Capital Improvement Program includes funds for
Project 02-09 Los Gatos Creek Trail Bike Trail Improvement - Camden Avenue
Pedestrian Bridge Replacement; and
WHEREAS, final plans, specifications and engineer's estimate for the
improvements have been completed; and
WHEREAS, the schedule of this project has been established to address
scheduling constraints regarding the construction of this project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has only one regularly scheduled meeting on
August 2nd and due to various schedule constraints there is a need to award a
construction contract before the next regularly scheduled Council meeting on September
6th.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell hereby approves the plans and specifications for Project 02-09 Los Gatos
Creek Trail Bike Trail Improvement - Camden Avenue Pedestrian Bridge Replacement;
authorizes the Public Works Director to solicit bids for construction of the project
improvements; authorizes the Public Works Director to award and execute a contract
and encumber a 15% construction contingency in an amount not to exceed $632,500;
and authorizes the Public Works Director or City Engineer to execute contract change
orders up to and within the 15% contingency amount.
