RESOLUTION NO.

BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CAMPBELL CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO AWARD THE CONTRACT FOR CABLECASTING EQUIPMENT
REPLACEMENT PROJECT TO MAGICWAVE PRODUCTIONS
WHEREAS, the City Manager's Office issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) to prospective
firms, vendors, municipalities and national trade organizations;
WHEREAS, the City Manager's Office received five proposals by the August 31,2005 deadline;
WHEREAS, two of the proposals were very comprehensive and responsive to the City's RFP;
WHEREAS, the City Manager's Office conducted in-person interviews with the top two bidders;
WHEREAS, MagicWave Production is the firm that designed and installed the City's original
cablecasting equipment system in 1997;
WHEREAS, said system has operated well and has met the needs of the City;
WHEREAS, MagicWave Production's proposal in response to the City's August 2005 RFP is
$103,633 less than the next comparable bid considered by the City Manager's Office;
WHEREAS, MagicWave Production's proposal is within the City Manager's Office Cablecasting
Equipment Replacement Project budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Campbell does
hereby authorize the City Manager to award its Cablecasting Equipment Replacement Project to
MagicWave Productions and that the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to sign
and execute the contract on behalf of the City of Campbell.
