RESOLUTION NO. 10610
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL HONORING
ALAN AERTS 2005 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, Alan Aerts has been selected by the Campbell Chamber of Commerce as
2005 Citizen of the Year and will be honored at the Chamber of Commerce annual
"Celebrate Campbell" banquet on March 25, 2006; and
WHEREAS, Alan Aerts was instrumental in raising funds for the annual Carol of Lights
event when City funding for the event was in jeopardy, and was actively involved in
organizing and staging the event; and
WHEREAS, Alan Aerts donated many of his holiday decorations to the City of Campbell
and Town of Los Gatos when he no longer decided to decorate his home so that the
citizens of both communities could enjoy the festive lighting; and
WHEREAS, Alan Aerts has owned and operated Custom Vending Systems, a
successful Campbell business since its inception in 1980, and is an active member of
the business community and currently serves on the Campbell Chamber of Commerce
Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, Alan Aerts supports a number of charities including Guide Dogs for the
Blind and Special Olympics, and recently co-chaired a Casino Night to benefit the
Emergency Housing Consortium.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
recognizes and honors Alan Aerts on being named 2005 Campbell Citizen of the Year
in recognition of his service to the Campbell community and his continued involvement
in business and civic affairs.
