BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF CAMPBELL DENYING A SIGN EXCEPTION
(PLN2002-38) TO ALLOW THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW
ILLUMINATED AWNING SIGN ATTACHED TO THE FRONT OF
THE WIENERSCHNITZEL BUIIJDING ON PROPERTY OWNED
BY EVA AND ATTILIO BANDONI TRUSTEE ET AL LOCATED
AT 1940 S. BASCOM AVENUE IN A C-2-S (GENERAL
COMMERCIAL) ZONING DISTRICT. APPLICATION OF MR.
NOBLE STANSBURY, ON BEHALF OF WIENERSCHNITZEL.
FILE NO. PLN2002-38.
After notification and public hearing, as specified by law, and after presentation by the
Community Development Director, proponents and opponents, the hearing was closed.
After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Planning Commission did find as follows
with respect to application PLN2002-38:
1. The proposed sign is architecturally compatible with the building in terms of color, style and
design.
2. The business is not unusually difficult to locate in comparison to similar uses.
3. The business would be adequately identified with a 20 square foot awning sign due to its
location on a major arterial and existing signage, including a monument sign.
Based on the foregoing findings of fact, the Planning Commission further finds and concludes
that:
1. The proposed sign is not consistent with the purposes of the Sign Ordinance by preserving
and improving the visual character of the community.
The use for which the sign is to be erected would be adequately identified and is not
unusually difficult to locate in comparison to similar uses without exceeding the standards of
the Sign Ordinance.
3. The proposed sign would be detrimental to the public welfare or persons in the neighborhood
or the City as a whole.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission denies a Sign
Exception (PLN2002-38) to allow the installation of a new illuminated awning sign attached to
the front of the Wienerschnitzel building on property owned by Eva and Attilio Bandoni Trustee
et al located at 1940 S. Bascom Avenue.
