PC Res 2753 RESOLUTION NO. 2753
PLANNING COMMISSION, CITY OF CAMPBELL
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CAMPBELL, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING AMENDMENT TO THE
CIRCULATION ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN RECOMMENDING A
REVIEW OF THE STREET CLASSI~CATION OF WEST HACIENDA
AVENUE, BETWEEN BURROWS ROAD AND ABBOTT AVENUE, AND
THE ELIMINATION OF A POSSIBLE EXTENSION OF HARRIET AVENUE
TO ABBOTT AVENUE, CITY-INITIATED APPLICATION, FILE NO. GP 91-
04.
After notification and public hearing as specified by law on proposed
amendments to the Circulation Element of the General Plan; and, after
presentation by the Planning Director, proponents and opponents, the
hearing was dosed.
After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Planning Commission
does finds as follows, with respect to File No. GP 91-04:
The projected trips for this portion of West Hacienda Avenue should
not exceed 8,000 trips per day at the buildout of this residential
neighborhood.
e
A Class I collector is defined as a street that accommodates 3,500 to 12,000
trips per day.
The San Tomas Policy encourages alternative street improvements and a
lesser street width to reinforce the rural character of this residential
neighborhood.
Based upon the above findings of fact, the Planning Commission further
finds and concludes that:
That a Class I collector will adequately serve the planned uses along this
portion of Hacienda Avenue.
The change in street classification provides a balance and integrated
circulation system.
The Planning Commission does hereby adopt a Resolution recommending
that the City Council adopt the attached Ordinance making effective the
proposed amendment.
