PC Res 2731 RESOLUTION NO. 2731 PLANNING COMMISSION BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A REVISED HOUSING ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN. CITY INITIATED APPLICATION GP 91-01 After notification and public hearing as specified by law on the proposed Housing Element; and after presentation by the Planning Director and proponents and opponents, the hearing was dosed. After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Planning Commission of the City of Campbell, California does find as follows: The Planning Commission held public hearings for consideration of the Housing Element on January 22, 1991 and February 12, 1991. An Initial Study has been prepared on the Element, as required by the California Environmental Quality Act. o Copies of the Housing Element were mailed to housing groups and affordable housing providers for review. Government Code Section 65302 requires that a city's general plan include a housing element. Government Code Section 65583 lists the required contents of a housing element. Government Code Section 65583(c) requires that a housing element contain a five year schedule of housing program to implement the element. The Element contains the components required by Government Code Section 65583. Chapter 7 of the Housing Element contains housing goals, policies, and programs for a 5 year time period. Based upon the foregoing findings of fact, the Planning Commission concludes that:. A Negative Declaration is appropriate as no significant environmental impacts have been identified to be assodated with this project which cannot be mitigated. olution No. 2731 February 12, 1991 Planning Commission Pa~e -2- The Housing Element is consistent with State laws pertaining to Housing Elements. The Housing Program contained in Chapter 7 of the Housing Element fulfill Government Code Section 85583(c) requiring a five year schedule of housing programs. The Housing Element is consistent with other elements of the Campbell General Plan. The Housing Element will help maintain the continuing health, safety, and welfare of the City. The Planning Commission does hereby adopt a Resolution recommending that the City Coundl adopt an Ordinance making effective the proposed Housing Element.
