CITY OF CAMPBELL, CALIFORNIA
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF AN
HISTORIC DESIGNATION OF THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 112 SOUTH
SECOND STREET; AND, A CITY-INITIATED ZONE CHANGE FROM PD
(PLANNED DEVELOPMENT/LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL) TO PD-H
(PLANNED DEVELOPMENT/LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL/HISTORIC
OVERLAY), APPLICATION OF MRS. AUDREE TUTTLE, (ZC 90-10)
HPB 90-05.
After notification and Public Hearing as specified by law on property
located at 112 South Second Street, and after presentation by the
Planning Director, proponents and opponents, the Planning Commission
did determine that the property has significant historic values
worthy of preservation as noted in the following findings:
The J. C. Ainsley/Gordon and Alice Ainsley House is currently
listed on the Campbell Historic Resources Survey and is
recognized as a potentially historic site.
The home is in very good condition and retains its original
design.
The home is architecturally significant and exemplifies the
Victorian Queen Anne style.
The home was constructed in approximately in 1895, and its
ownership by a leading Campbell family contributes to the
historical resources of Campbell.
Designation of the second J. C. Ainsley/Gordon and Alice
Ainsley House will emphasize the importance of Historic
Preservation in the community.
The Planning Commission of the City of Campbell recommends that the
City Council enact the Ordinance attached hereto making effective the
recommended changes to the Zoning Map as required for Historic
Designation, and designate the property as an Historic Landmark.

DESIGNATION FOR THE RESIDENCE AND PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 112 SOUTH SECOND STREET IN A PD
(PLANNED DEVELOPMENT/LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL)
ZONING DISTRICT; AND, CHANGING THE ZONING MAP
FROM PD (PLANNED DEVELOPMENT/LOW DENSITY
RESIDENTIAL) TO A PD-H (PLANNED DEVELOPMENT/LOW
DENSITY RESIDENTIAL\HISTORIC OVERLAY),
APPLICATION OF MRS. AUDREE TUTTLE, FILE NO. ZC
90-10 (HPB 90-05).
The city Council of the City of Campbell does ordain as
follows:
SECTION ONE: That the City of Campbell hereby designate the
residence and property located at 112 South Second Street as an
Historic Landmark in the City of Campbell, as per the application of
Mrs. Audree Tuttle; and, City-initiated zoning change, changing the
zoning map from PD (Planned Development/Low Density Residential) to
PD-H (Planned Development/Low Density Residential/Historic Overlay).
SECTION TWO: This Ordinance shall become effective thirty days
following its passage and adoption, and shall be published once
within fifteen (15) days upon passage and adoption in the San Jose
Mercury News, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
Campbell, County of Santa Clara.
