PC Res 2664RESOLUTION N0.2664
PLANNING COMMISSION
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING APPROVAL
OF A ZONE CHANGE FROM C-3-S (CENTRAL BUSINESS
DISTRICT) TO C-3-S-H (CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT/
HISTORIC LANDMARK); AND, DESIGNATION OF THE COMMERCIAL
BUILDING, LOCATED ON PROPERTY KNOWN AS 365 EAST
CAMPBELL AVENUE, IN A C-3-S (CENTRAL BUSINESS) ZONING
DISTRICT. (APPLICATION OF MR. BRUCE BOWEN,
ON BEHALF OF AINSLEY DEVELOPMENT, INC. FILE NO.
ZC 90-01 AND HPB 90-01)
After notification and public hearing as specified by law on the proposed
amendments to the Zoning Map of the City of Campbell, and after presentation by
the Planning Director, proponents and opponents, the Planning Commission did
determine that the change as shown in the attached Exhibit A should be made to
the Zoning Map based on the following findings:
The designation of this building as an Historic Landmark is
consistent with the purposes of the Historic Preservation Chapter of
the Zoning Ordinance.
The action proposed will not be detrimental to the historical value
of this structure.
The proposed Zone Change from C-3-S to C-3-S-H is required to
achieve the purposes set forth in Section 21.01.010 of the Zoning
Ordinance and is consistent with the City's General Plan.
This commercial structure represents the first bank built in
Campbell in 195, and as such, represents a significant commercial
building of that date for this community.
The architectural style of this structure represents a typical
commercial building at the turn of the century.
The building is in good condition and has not been altered
significantly.
The Planning Commission of the City of Campbell recommends that the City
Council enact the Ordinance attached hereto making effective the recommended
changes to the Zoning Map.
