PC Res 2644 RESOLUTION NO. 2644 PLANNING COMMISSION, CAMPBELL, CALIFORNIA BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A ZONE CHANGE FROM PD (PLANNED DEVELOPMENT) TO PD-H (PLANNED DEVELOPMENT/HISTORIC OVERLAY); AND TO DESIGNATE THE PROPERTY AND RESIDENCE ON PROPERTY KNOWN AS 73 SOUTH FIRST STREET AS A HISTORIC LANDMARK, AS SHOWN ON THE ATTACHED EXHIBIT (APPLICATION OF KIM AND MELANIE MORGENTHALER HPB 89-04/ ZC 89-16). After notification and Public Hearing as specified by law to designate the residence at 73 South First Street, as an Historic Landmark; and proposed amendments to the Zoning Map of the City of Campbell, from PD (Planned Development) to PD-H (Planned Development/Historic Overlay) Zoning District; and after presentation by the Planning Director, proponents and opponents, the Planning Commission did determine that the change as shown in the attached Exhibit A should be made to the Zoning Map based on the following findings: ZONE CHANGE 1. The proposed Zone Change from PD to PD-H will help to preserve and protect the Historic character of this property; and, 2. The Historic combining District will not impair the orderly development of this area for residential uses. Historic Designation: 3. This structure embodies characteristics of a "Queen Anne Victorian Cottage" style of architecture worthy of preservation. 4. This property and residence is associated with the Swope family, an early family in Campbell's architectural history. The Planning Commission of the City of Campbell recommends that the City Council enact the Ordinance attached hereto making effective the recommended changes to the Zoning Map to designate the property and residence at 73 South First Street as a Historic Landmark. Olszewski Chairperson ATTEST: Steve Piasecki Secretary ks RESOLUTION NO. 20 HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD CITY OF CAMPBELL, CALIFORNIA After notification and public hearing as specified by law on the application filed by Klm and Melanie Morgenthaler, to designate the residence at 73 South First Street, as an Historic Landmark, and after testimony by proponents and opponents, the hearing was closed. HPB 89-04/ZC 89-16. After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Historic Board did find as follows: 1. This structure embodies characteristics of a "Queen Anne Victorian Cottage" style of architecture worthy of preservation. 2. This property and residence is associated with the Swope Family, an early family in Campbell's history. Based upon the above findings, the Historic Preservation Board does hereby recommend that the Planning Commission and City Council take action to designate the residence at 73 South First Street, as a Historic Landmark in the City of Campbell, California.
