PLANNING COMMISSION
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING A USE PERMIT
ALLOWING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY
RELIGIOUS CENTER ON PROPERTY KNOWN AS
555 W. CAMPBELL AVE. IN AN EXISTING OFFICE BUILDING
IN A PF (PUBLIC FACILITIES) ZONING DISTRICT.
(APPLICATION OF NEW JERUSALEM CHURCH, UP 89-05).
After notification and public hearing as specified by law on the application of
Rev. Cheri Newlandi, on behalf of the New Jerusalem Church, for a Use Permit to
allow the establishment of a community religious center on property known as
555 W. Campbell Ave. in a PF (Public Facilities) Zoning District, as per the
application filed in the Planning Department on March 24, 1989; and, after
presentation by the Planning Director, proponents and opponents, the hearing
was closed.
After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Planning Commission did
find as follows:
Parking: The parking provided exceeds the code requirements.
Health/Safety: The proposed zoning will not be detrimental to the health,
safety, peace, morals, comfort or general welfare of persons residing or
working in the neighborhood, or be detrimental or injurious to property and
improvements in the neighborhood or the general welfare of the City.

Zoning: The proposed development or uses clearly will result in a more
desirable environment and use of land than would be possible under any
other zoning classification.
Compatibility: The use will be compatible with the General Plan of the
City of Campbell and will aid in the harmonious development of the
immediate area.
General Plan: The use is essential or desirable to the public convenience
or welfare, and is in harmony with the various elements or objectives of
the City's General Plan.
Based on the above findings, the Planning Commission does hereby grant the
requested Use Permit, subject to the following conditions:
PLANNING DEPARTMENT
1. Parking Areas: Ail parking areas indicated on site plan shall be
accessible during church activities.
Provisions of Approval: Approval granted for church-related activities as
follows: 1) religious services; 2) religious instruction; 3) classrooms;
4) office space.

Occupancy shall not exceed 49 persons.
Provide 2 approved fire exits.
The applicant is notified as part of this application that he/she is required
to comply with all applicable Codes and/or Ordinances of the City of Campbell
and the State of California which pertain to this development and are not
herein specified.
