PC Res 2537RESOLUTION NO. 2537 PLANNING CO~ISSION BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING A USE PERMIT ALLOWING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A MOOSE LODGE ON PROPERTY KNOWN AS 471 DIVISION ST. IN AN M-1-S (LIGHT INDUSTRIAL) ZONING DISTRICT. (APPLICATION OF MR. JIM WOODBURY, LOS GATOS MOOSE LODGE #1996, UP 88-05). After notification and public hearing as specified by law on the application of Mr. Jim Woodbury, on behalf of the Los Gatos Moose Lodge #1996, for a Use Permit to allow the establishment of a lodge on property known as 471 Division St. in an M-1-S (Light Industrial) Zoning District, as per the application filed in the Planning Department on May 16, 1988; and, after presentation by the Planning Director, proponents and opponents, the hearing was closed. After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Planning Commission did find as follows: The establishment, maintenance or operation of the use applied for will not be detrimental to the health, safety, peace, morals, comfort or general welfare of persons residing or working in the neighborhood of such proposed use, or be detrimental or injurious to property and improvements in the neighborhood or to the general welfare of the City. The proposed site is adequate in size and shape to accomodate the yards, walls, fences, parking and loading facilities, landscaping and other development features required in order to integrate said use with uses in the surrounding area. The proposed site is adequately served by streets of sufficient capacity to carry the kind and quantity of traffic such use would generate. The 90 parking spaces will be adequate for this use. The proposed use is compatible with the uses in the area. Because the Lodge operates mainly in the evening and on weekends, it should not conflict with other businesses in the area. The use is essential or desirable to the public convenience or welfare, and is in harmony with the various elements or objectives of the City's General Plan. Based on the above findings, the Planning Commission does hereby grant the requested Use Permit, subject to the following conditions: 1. Obtain all necessary permits from the Building Department. 2. Hours of operation shall be those listed in letter contained in Staff Report of June 14, 1988, as submitted by applicant Resolution No. 2537 2 UP 88-05 3. A six-month parking review to be conducted to assure adequate parking. FIRE DEPARTMENT 4. Building will need to comply with all requirements for assembly occupancy per UBC and may require additional exiting once occupant load is determined. BUILDING DEPARTMENT 5. Plans are incomplete. Provide square foot measurements to determine occupant load. Exit from "meeting room" shows only one approved exit. Door from bar into hall at bathrooms is swinging in the wrong direction. Plans to be more complete for other comments. PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT No comments at this time. The applicant is notified as part of this application that he/she is required to comply with all applicable Codes and/or Ordinances of the City of Campbell and the State of California which pertain to this development and are not herein specified.
