A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PROJECT 03-72:
ANNUAL SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE PROJECT AND PROJECT 02-02:
ACCESSIBILITY RAMPS PROJECT TO LUCAS CONCRETE, INC., AND
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT
WHEREAS, bids were received for construction of Project 03-72: Annual Sidewalk
Maintenance Project and Project 02-02 Accessibility Ramps Project, on April 9, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Lucas Concrete, Inc. has been found to be the lowest responsible bidder
with a total bid of $106,259.58; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended to increase the construction contingency to 31 % and
authorize the Public Works Director to execute change orders in an aggregate amount not to
exceed $33,040.42 to include additional sidewalk, driveway, curb and gutter repairs, and
accessibility ramp installations at various locations throughout the City; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell
that the construction contract for the aforementioned projects be awarded to Lucas Concrete, Inc.,
and that the Public Works Director is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Lucas
Concrete, Inc., in the amount of $106,259.58 plus a 31 % construction contingency of $33,040.42
for a total of $139,300.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the
Public Works Director is hereby authorized to execute contract change order(s) in the amount not
the exceed $33,040.42 for additional sidewalk, driveway, curb and gutter repairs, and
accessibility ramp installations at various locations throughout the City.
