RESOLUTION NO. 10651
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FIVE YEAR AGREEMENT FOR
STORMWATER SYSTEMS PROTECTION INSPECTION SERVICES BETWEEN THE
SANTA CLARA COUNTY CENTRAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell entered into an Agreement on March 5, 1996, thereafter
amended on May 1, 1997, with the Santa Clara County Central Fire Protection District
(SCCCFPD) whereby the SCCCFPD provided stormwater protection inspection services;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell entered into a new Agreement for stormwater protection
services with the SCCCFPD on June 30, 2001, thereafter extended through June 30, 2006
which replaced the original Agreement of March 5, 1996; and
WHEREAS, stormwater protection inspection services are an integral component of the
obligation of the City of Campbell under the terms and conditions set forth in the National
Pollutant Discharge Ellimination System (NPDES) Permit, No. CAS029718; and
WHEREAS, Campbell has an agreement with the West Valley Sanitation District (WVSD)
for collection of fees for the purpose of stormwater program management, managed
though the WVSD by the West Valley Clean Water Program (WVCWP); and
WHEREAS, the WVCWP includes components for stormwater system protection and
inspection services which are most effectively and efficiently provided by the SCCCFPD;
and
WHEREAS, it was agreed upon and determined by the participants of the WVCWP that a
combined agreement between the City of Campbell, the City of Saratoga, the Town of Los
Gatos and SCCCFPD is necessary in order to efficiently coordinate the NPDES permit
requirements for Campbell, Saratoga and Los Gatos; and
WHEREAS, the new agreement will have a term of five years, with costs for the first year
for the City of Campbell not to exceed $11,000 and costs for each of the remaining years
for the City of Campbell not to exceed $13,000 per year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute a five year agreement, and any
amendments necessary during the life of the five year agreement, for stormwater systems
protection inspection services between the SCCCFPD and the City of Campbell.
