PC Res 2461RESOLUTION NO. 2461
PLANNING COMMISSION
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING DENIAL
OF A ZONE CHANGE FROM R-3-S (MULTIPLE FAMILY
RESIDENTIAL) TO P-O-S (PROFESSIONAL OFFICE)
FOR PROPERTIES KNOWN AS 3803 & 3535 S. BASCOM
AVE.; AND FROM R-1-S (LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL)
TO P-O-S (PROFESSIONAL OFFICE) FOR PROPERTY
KNOWN AS 1956 WHITEOAKS RD. AS SHOWN ON THE
ATTACHED EXHIBIT (APPLICATION OF MR. KURT
ANDERSON; ZC 87-03).
After notification and public hearing as specified by law on the proposed
amendments to the Zoning Map of the City of Campbell, and after
presentation by the Planning Director, proponents and opponents, the
Planning Commission did determine that the change as shown in the attached
Exhibit A should NOT be made to the Zoning Map based on the following
findings:
(1)
The existing Zoning of R-3-S (Multiple Family Residential) as a
transition to Low Density Residential, with Professional Office
across the street in San Jose, provides harmony.
(2)
There is no over-powering indication in the community of a
shortage of office buildings, whereas, there is a shortage of
residential units.
The Planning Commission of the City of Campbell recommends that the City
Council DENY this zone change.
