THE CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING DENIAL OF A
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN FROM HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL
TO PROFESSIONAL OFFICE FOR PROPERTIES KNOWN AS
3803 & 3835 S. BASCOM AVE., AND FROM LOW DENSITY
RESIDENTIAL TO PROFESSIONAL OFFICE FOR THE EASTERLY
PORTION OF PROPERTY KNOWN AS 1956 WHITEOAKS RD.
(APPLICATION OF MR KURT ANDERSON, GP 87-05.)
After notification and public hearing as specified by law on proposed
amendments to the Land Use Element of the General Plan, from High Density
Residential to Professional Office for properties known as 3803 & 3835 S.
Bascom Ave.; and, from Low Density Residential to Professional Office for
the easterly portion of property known as 1956 Whiteoaks Rd.; and, after
presentation by the Planning Director, proponents and opponents, the
hearing was closed.
After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Planning Commission
does find as follows:
(1)
The existing General Plan of High Density Residential as a
transition to Low Density Residential, with Professional Office
across the street in San Jose, provides harmony.
(2)
There is no over-powering indication in the community of a
shortage of office buildings, whereas, there is a shortage of
residential units.
The Planning Commission does hereby adopt a Resolution recommending that
the City Council deny the proposed General Plan change.
