RESOLUTION NO. 10668
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH CALIFORNIA TRACK & ENGINEERING, INC. FOR THE UPGRADE
OF THE COMMUNITY CENTER ALL WEATHER TRACK SURFACING
WHEREAS, the polyurethane surfacing of the Community Center All Weather Track is
exhibiting major surface abrasion due to heavy use by Campbell residents and other
users; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council of the City of Campbell that due
to the nature of the required upgrades, it is in the best interest of the public to contract
with California Track & Engineering, Inc., who will therefore be considered a sole source
provider for the proposed upgrade of the track's polyurethane surfacing; and
WHEREAS, California Track & Engineering, Inc. has provided a bid of $80,979.00 for
the upgrades to the track, which is considered to be reasonable for the proposed
polyurethane surfacing upgrade;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the Public Works Director to execute a contract with California Track
& Engineering, Inc. to upgrade the polyurethane surfacing of the Community Center
track in the amount of $80,979.00 and to encumber an additional $8,100 as a
construction contingency for a total contract amount not to exceed $89,079.
