RE: Tract No. 6385
Dear Sir:
We have no objection to the P.S.E.'s as shown on the attached
map.
P.S.E.'s do not, however, constitute "an easement acceptable
to the utility", as described in our Rule 16 I.C.2b. It may,
therefore, be advantageous for the developer to grant our
Company a Right-of-Way for a portion of the telephone facilities
to be placed on the property served. Any arrangements for such
an easement will be made directly with the developer.
Yours very truly,

City Council Minutes
April 23, 1979
tract No.'6384 -Vacation of This is the time and place for public hearing to consider
,ertain Publ.ic Easement the abandonment of a portion of a publ ic service easement
within Tract No. 6384.
Public Works Director Elliott outlined the proposed easement
on a map, and the development now under construction and
the private streets within the tract. The owners of the
development have acquired the easement from P.G.&E. and
since acquiring the easement area they wish to relocate
the private streets within the development. This would
allow the development of another lot and the extension of
the street. All the pUblic utilities involved have been
contacted and they have no objections to the vacation of
the public service easement.
Mr. Elliott advised that the abandonment of the easement
not only affects the one site, but there are to be other
sites on a new map that will be filed later on.
Councilman Hammer stated that the Council has approved a
plan indicating a certain number of units at a certain
density and he asked if the development would have to
come back to the Council for approval.
Mr. Kee stated that it was his understanding that what is
being requested is in accord with the previous plans.
However, there are going to be more houses built and that
was represented at the time of the original approval.
Councilman Hammer stated that unless there is a pressing
need to approve this vacation of easement, he would rather
have the item continued for further consideration by staff.
Mayor Paul declared the public hearing open and asked if
anyone wished to be heard.
Mr. Bob Turk, principal of Rolling Hills School, spoke in
favor of the vacation of the easement. He stated that the
development of the area will help in the supervision of
the school children.
Recess
Councilman Podgorsek proposed and moved that the pUblic
hearing to vacate a portion of a public service easement
within Tract No. 6384 be continued to the May 14 meeting,
seconded by Councilman Hammer and unanimously adopted.
The Council adjourned to the Campbell Redevelopment Agency
meeting. The Council reconvened at 9:36 P.M.
The Mayor declared a recess at 9:37 P.M. The meeting

Attention Mr. James Penoyer
Dear Mr. Elliott:
We have reviewed the Tentative Map for Lands of Tate, Phase II
of the Pollard-More Townhouse Development, sent to us on
November 7.
The site is adjacent to the Vasona Distribution System, Stevens
Creek Pipeline, and West Pipeline, which are located as shown
on the enclosed marked plan.
The site would not be subject to flooding from any District
facility during a 1% flood.
The Vasona Distribution System Canal is a water utility facility
into which the discharge of storm drainage is not allowed. Site
drainage should be directed into an existing storm drainage system.
In accordance with District Ordinance 75-6, the owner should show
any existing well(s) on the plans and inform us regarding their
proposed use. Please contact Mr. Zozaya at 299-2454 for
information about well permits.
Because it can affect the operations and maintenance of the Vasona
Distribution System Canal, we request that grading adjacent to
the right of way be done in accordance with the enclosed marked
Sheets 20-20B. The details of the grading should include cross-
sectional views at the right of way and should be shown on the
improvement plans. The locations of the top and toe of the canal
should also be included.

Because the root structure of trees may affect our facilities,
we request that landscape plans showing the type and location
of trees be sent to us for review. For information regarding
trees, please contact Mr. Richard Pardini of our Operations
Branch. We would reserve the right to trim any tree overhanging
into our right of way that may interfere with canal operations.
The Vasona Canal may be a potential hazard to small children who
may be in the proposed development. We, therefore, request that
the canal be fenced. Chain link fence may be placed in
accordance with the enclosed detail Sheet 17. Any other type
should be installed off District's right of way and maintained
by others. Please show details of any fencing on the improvement
plans.
Any work within 17 feet of the pipeline center lines is subject to
our approval. Please design any crossing of the Stevens Creek
and West Pipelines in accordance with enclosed detail Sheets
26-26A and Special Conditions.
Prior to construction, please send detailed site grading and
improvement plans for our review and issuance of a permit.

Subject: Existing Pavement Thickness
on Pollard Road Fronting
Proposed Pollard-More
Townhouse Development (Tract 6384)
Campbell, California
Gentlemen:
At your request, our firm conducted an investigation to determine the existing
pavement thickness on Pollard Road in front of the subject site. It is our
understanding that the pavement thickness information is needed by the City of
Campbell to evaluate plans for the proposed townhouse development.
The field investigation was conducted November 2, 1978. A shallow test boring
was drilled through the asphalt pavement section in the westbound lane of Pollard
Road. The boring was located six feet north of the center dividing striping
and 21 feet west of an existing storm sewer manhole. According to the Pollard
Road Improvement Plans by Mark Thomas and Co., Inc., for Tract 6384, dated
March, 1978, the manhole is at an approximate station of 6 + 15.
At this particular location, the thickness of asphalt was measured at 7.2 inches
and the base rock measured 10.8 inches thick.
If any questions arise, or if additional information is needed, please give us
a ca 11 .
Very truly yours,

MEMO RAN DUN

TO
Stephen H. Goodman
FROM
Engineering Department
SUBJECT
MORE AVENUE INTERCONNECTING SEWER
1. Developers, Nrw J'ohn J. Totah and Associates, are pro-
posing to develop property fronting on More Avenue in
the City of Campbell. In conjunction with their
development, a portion of More Avenue will be surfaced.
2. A sewer system interconnection would provide flexibility
in the op~Eation of the sewage collection system.
3. We are recommending the installation of the More Avenue
interconnecting sewer in advance of the street improve-
ments that will accompany the Totah development., .
4. The estimated cost of the More Avenue interconnecting
sewer is an estimated $39,000.
'I'he developer, John"Totah and Associates, will be obli-
gated to participate in the cost of this sewer at an
estimated $6,000. When the More Avenue school was built,
a trust fund was established to cover the school's
participation in the More Avenue interconnecting sewer.
In that fund there is approximately $4,000. This leaves
this Sanitation District's share of the sewer at $29,000.
Projects like this were anticipated in the 1977-78 budget
under the caption nAdvanced Construction". $40,000 was
budgeted in this account.
