Re: Wallbangers Court eenter 577 Salmar Ave. Gentlemen: We hereby request a waiver on the requirement for a sidewalk along the street frontage of the above referenced project. Our justification for asking for this waiver ls that there doesn't seem to be enough pedestrian traffic along this street to warrant ~ sidewalk and we feel that the additional landscaping is more desirable than' an unused sidewalk. I I I i I ,... , I ! ! (Je would be willing to remove the landscaping and install the side walk at some future time if there were an increase of edestrian traffic to justify it. \\1e understand that the mini-storage warehouses dovm the street have received a waiver on their sidewalk. Helms, Public Works Department Subject: UP 73-12, Proposed Handball, Racketba;(i Facility, 577 Sa~ar Avenue Driveway LocationU1-' ----------------------------------------------------------- This Department hereby waives its ,requirement that the driveway be constructed at 5 feet from property line. This requirement is being waived due to the fact that the existing development to the north has its driveway approximately 20 feet from the property line and if the driveway is to be constructed 5 feet from the prop- erty line an existing fire hydrant would have to be relocated. FTL____.,____.__ : ____.___ SUBJECT: UP 73-12, Proposed Handball and Racketball Facility, 577 Salmar Avenue ----1---- .--- FT !:' Dear Mr. Tompkin: This office has reviewed your revised plan which shows the location of thefire.hydrant at 29.5 feet from the northerly line of your property. That information is incorrect. We measured 26.5 feet from the hydrant to property line. Taking into consideration 3-foot transitions at each end of the drive- way and a minimum of 3 feet from driveway to fire hydrant, 17.5 feet is left of actual driveway wi~th. We have discussed this matter with the Planning Department, and they are of the opinion that the driveway should be constructed where it is shown rather than locating it elsewhere. It is our opinion that it will be necessary to remove and relocate the hydrant approximately 9.5 feet southerly in order to clear the driveway. O'-1r uncierstanding is that the cost of the fire hydrant relocation will range from $1,000 to $3,000 depending upon matters to be resolved between the Fire Department and Campbell Water Company. You will be required to post a $1,700.00 faithful performance bond for the construction of the off-site improvements, sidewalk, curb and gutter, driveway, guard-posts and street trees. This office will prepare the ~ond forms for execution either by yourself or by your contractor whenever you are ready to execute them. ApplicabLe fees are storm drainage area fee, $108.007 plan examination and construction inspection fee, $60.007 and fire hydrant rental fee, $195.00. , , , . .. Mr. Woodruff Tompkin -2- December 31, 1973 Enclosed is a drawing which shows the location of the utilities on the frontage of your property.
