Gentlemen :
Pursuant to a rreeting at the above referenced project at which alter-
native considerations were discussed for mitigation of the failed as-
phalt concrete base, sul:Initted herewith are our estimated costs for the
three alternatives discussed.
The first alternative would involve rerroval of the failed base, offhaul
and disposal a cost of $3813.00. Replacing the deeplift section would
w~ th Mr. Err~co.
The second al ternati ve, as proposed by the city, would permit leaving
" . the existing deep-lift course in place and placing petro-mat beneath
. .2 the final course. The petro-mat would overlap the existing paving
~,"- approximately three (3) feet with an A.C. overlay l~" thick extending
'i-- to the Iredian islands and the crown line of Carrpbell Avenue and Win-
chester Boulevard intersection.
The estimated add for Alternative II would arrount to $16,420.00

In order to minimize impacts to public safety and convenience and still
accarplish the desired result of irrproving service life of the failed
base course we propose a third al ternati ve as follows:
1. Grind the existing pavement i.rrIrediately adjacent to the failed
areas to receive an A.C. overlay for a 6' minimum width.
2. Place petro-mat overlapping the prepared existing pavement and
failed areas. '
3. Place minimum l~" A.C. overlay on failed areas and prepared
existing pavement areas and seal.
The total estimated add for Alternative III arrounts to $7,388.00

BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL, COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
VACATING A PORTION OF A PUBLIC SERVICE EASEMENT IN
TRACT NO. 7519
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell acquired that certain publ ic service ease-
ment conveyed by that certain map of Tract No. 7519, recorded in Book 520
of Maps at pages 34 and 35 in the office of the County Recorder of said
County of Santa Clara; and
WHEREAS, a portion of said easement, which portion is described by the
attached "Exhibit A," is excess and not required for present or future
publ ic service purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Acting Director of Publ ic Works has recommended that said
portion be vacated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Campbell as follows:
SECTION ONE: That it elects to proceed in accordance with the provisions
of Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 4, Section 8334, et sequens, of the Streets
and Highways Code.
SECTION TWO: That the City Council does hereby summarily vacate aforesaid
portion of publ ic service easement.
SECTION THREE: That the City Clerk is directed to record a certified copy
of this resolution in aforesaid office of the County Recorder.
SECTION FOUR: That from and after the date the resolution is recorded,
aforesaid portion vacated no longer constitutes a publ ic service easement.

Dear Mark:
Attached is a copy of the section of the Map Act that covers a
Certificate of Correction and/or Amending Map. The use of either
document seems precluded, by this section, as a means to effect
the necessary changes in the PSE on the referenced tract map.
We would recommend a summary vacation of those portions of the PSE
where car ports have been built. The attached two pages from the
Streets and Highways Code recite the central requirements of such
an action.
We will prepare the resolution for the Council's action if you will
prepare the plat and legal description and obtain the written con-
sent of PG&E, PT&T, Gill Cable Television, Sanitary District No.4,
and the San Jose Water Company.
As noted in the Code, the vacation becomes effective upon the recor-
dation of the resolution of summary vacation. Since no public hearing
is required and proposal has to be taken to the Council only once, this
is a relatively simple and quick procedure;. < We believe this satisfies
both the requirements of the law and your client's desire for expediency.

Installation of a sanitary sewerage system to serve all lots within the sub-
division in conformance with the proposed plans of the County of Santa Clara
Sanitation District No.4. Sanitary sewerage service to be provided by said

Installation of a water distribution system to serve all lots within the sub-
division in conformance with the plans of the San Jose Water Works.
Water service to be provided by said water company. Fire hydrants and appurte-
nances shall be provided and installed at the locations specified by the
Fire Chief, Fire Department, City of Campbell. Fire hydrant maintenance
fees shall be paid to City at the rate of $195 per fire hydrant.

Subdivider shall create or provide any public service easement and any other
public utility and/or public service easements as may be necessary for the
installation of any and all public utilities and/or facilities.
Compliance with the provisions of Title 20, Subdivisions of the Campbell
Municipal Code.
Subdivider to pay Storm Drainage Area Fee.
Subdivider to furnish copy of Preliminary Title Report.
Subdivider shall (install street improvements and post surety to guaranty
the work) (execute an agreement and post surety to install street improve-
ments in the future and agree to join a Local Improvement District).
Dedicate additional right-of-way to widen

Tentative Subdivision Map Plans of Heritage Village
In reviewing the site plans for the Heritage Village condominium
units, I do not see that any credit for open space or recreation
facilities should be provided. The only space provided is that
required for the condominium development. If the developer
should wish to consider any improvements beyond those required,
I certainly would review the revised plans. Please contact me
