PC Res 3744
RESOLUTION NO. 3744
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL
ADOPT A RESOLUTION REPEALING THE CAMPBELL
DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT PLAN FEBRUARY 1996 IN
PREPARATION FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE CAMPBELL
DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2006.
After notification and public hearing, as specified by law on the proposed
amendments to the City of Campbell General Plan Appendices, and after
presentation by the Community Development Director, proponents and opponents,
the Planning Commission did determine that the repeal of this document is
warranted based upon the following findings:
1. The existing Downtown Development Plan was adopted in February 1996.
2. Since adoption of the 1996 Plan, many of the programs have been achieved.
3. Facts and circumstances in the Downtown have therefore changed since the Plan
was adopted in 1996.
4. The General Plan was amended in 2001 and contains polices and strategies
applicable to the Downtown that should be incorporated into the Downtown
development Plan.
5. Repealing the existing Plan will allow for adoption of a comprehensive update to the
Downtown Development Plan.
Based upon the foregoing findings of fact, the Planning Commission further finds and
concludes that:
1. The existing plan must be repealed in order to adopt a Resolution to approve the
Campbell Downtown Development Plan 2006.
2. The Planning Commission of the City of Campbell recommends that the City Council
adopt a Resolution to repeal the Resolution that enacted the Campbell Downtown
Development Plan 1996 in preparation for the adoption of the Campbell Downtown
Development Plan 2006.
