A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAMPBELL COMMENDING BARBARA LEE
FOR 18 YEARS OF SERVICE WITH THE CITY
WHEREAS, Barbara Lee has been employed by the City of Campbell since June 1985 and has served
in the City Manager's Office in the positions of Administrative Assistant I, Administrative Assistant II,
Assistant to the City Manager, and Administrative Services Director; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Lee is a hard-working administrator who has provided outstanding executive staff
support to the City Manager and City Council, and performed her duties with a high degree of
professionalism and integrity; and
WHEREAS, in her position as Administrative Services Director, Barbara Lee has been a valuable asset
to the City Manager in the areas of Personnel and Labor Relations and has served as Chief Negotiator
successfully negotiating labor contracts with the City's employee organizations; and
,
WHEREAS, Barbara Lee provided strong leadership and analytical skills to the City Manager and City
Council in the early 1990's when the City was impacted by State takeaways resulting in the
implementation of $2.4 million in budget reduction strategies in order to bring the City's 1993/94 fiscal
year budget into balance, and she played a key role in the successful transition of fire protection
services from the City of Campbell Fire Department to Santa Clara County Fire in June 1993; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Lee has recently completed a complex cable franchise renewal process that will
result in improved cable and internet services for Campbell citizens; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure, Barbara Lee was responsible for coordination of annual staff
development retreats for the City's Executive Staff and Management Employees; supervised the
preparation of the City's annual Capital Improvement Plan; coordinated the update of the City's
Strategic Plan and associated summary document; and coordinated the City's biennial Customer
Satisfaction Survey.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell commends
Barbara Lee for her service to the City of Campbell and expresses appreciation for 18 years of valuable
service to the City of Campbell.
