RESOLUTION NO. 10745
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING RICHARD AMARO FOR THIRTY-THREE YEARS OF SERVICE
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro was hired by the City of Campbell on April 1 , 1974; and
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro's entire career with the City has been in the Public Works
Maintenance Division; and
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro has been commended on numerous occasions for his strong
work ethic, dependability, enthusiasm, willingness to take the initiative and ability to handle
any situation or project assigned with minimal instruction; and
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro can be counted on to work cooperatively with other agencies,
divisions and departments to ensure the success of major projects and special events; and
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro has continuously provided excellent customer service to
the residents of Campbell and his coworkers; and
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro was repeatedly recognized by the City Manager's office for
his minimal use of sick time; and
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro has managed the response of numerous spills, such as,
diesel, hydraulic fluid, etc., and has provided a quick response containing these types of
spills which prevented anything from entering the storm drains; protecting creeks and
waterways; and
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro has assisted in many storm related calls which required
clearing clogged storm drains, setting up barricades, removing downed limbs and could be
counted on to respond to any type of request required in a storm situation; and
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro has been instrumental in facilitating the repairs of many
displaced sidewalks in the traveled ways; and
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro has facilitated the traffic control setup of various citywide
events, such as the Carol of Lights and Boogie on the Bayou; and
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro's long tenure with the City provides an important source of
departmental knowledge and practical experience; and
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro was commended by the Council for his heroic efforts to
successfully save a dog's life; and
WHEREAS, Richard Amaro has been instrumental in the organization of the City's annual
turkey donation drive to Saint John Vianney Parish Community for the past 17 years,
which resulted in the donation of over 350 turkeys which fed a multitude of needy families.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
does hereby express its appreciation to Richard Amaro for thirty-three years of loyal and
valuable service and best wishes for a fulfilling retirement.
