RESOLUTION NO. 10269
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING THE CONCEPTUAL PLAN FOR THE LOS GA TOS CREEK TRAIL
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (02-09) AT CAMDEN A VENUE AND AUTHORIZING
THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE A CONSULTANT SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH BIGGS CARDOSA AND ASSOCIATES, INC.
WHEREAS, on May 2,2002, the City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into
an agreement with the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) for the use of
Measure B Bicycle Funds for Los Gatos Creek Trail Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the scope of the project is to replace the existing bicycle/pedestrian bridge
just north of San Tomas Expressway, reconstruct the existing trail approaches to the bridge, re-
grade the trail along the westerly creek bank in the proximity of the new bridge, and to improve
the existing trail on the easterly bank of the creek between San Tomas Expressway and Campbell
A venue; and
WHEREAS, in order to complete the final design, additional consultant services are
required for structural design and permitting application assistance; and
WHEREAS, the project is approved in the 2003-04 Capital Improvement Program and
total project funding has been approved of: $640,000 provided by VT A Measure B Bicycle funds
and City matching funds of $160,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby approves the conceptual plan for the Los Gatos Creek Trail Improvement Project 02-09
and authorizes the Public Works Director to negotiate and execute a consultant services
agreement with Biggs Cardosa and Associates in an amount not to exceed $110,000.
