RESOLUTION NO. 10257
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING VINCENT J. JIMENEZ FOR THIRTY-ONE YEARS OF SERVICE
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Vince Jimenez was hired by the City of Campbell on August 16,1972; and
WHEREAS, during his thirty-one years of service Vince Jimenez has risen through the ranks of
the Street Maintenance Division serving as a Maintenance Man I from 1972 to 1974, as a Maintenance
Man II from 1974 to 1975, as a Maintenance Worker II from 1975 to 1977, as a Maintenance Lead
Worker from 1977 to 1996, and as Street Maintenance Supervisor since 1996; and
WHEREAS, Vince Jimenez oversaw the maintenance of the City's streets and sidewalks, as well
as the installation and maintenance of public right-of-way signing and striping; and
WHEREAS, Vince Jimenez administered the annual street sweeping and centerline striping
contracts; and
WHEREAS, Vince Jimenez was the City's liaison to the West Valley Sanitation District program
to inspect and maintain the City's storm drain system resulting in the system operating at its highest level
of efficiency ever; and
WHEREAS, Vince Jimenez is particularly known for his level-headed response to emergencies
whether by arranging the setup of extensive traffic control, the removal of large debris from the traveled
way, or the unplugging of storm drain inlets to relieve flooding; and
WHEREAS, Vince Jimenez could always be counted on to work cooperatively with other
divisions and departments to ensure the success of major projects and special events; and
WHEREAS; Vince Jimenez has retired from thirty-one years of service with the City of
Campbell.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby
expresses its appreciation to Vincent J. Jimenez for thirty-one years of loyal and valuable service and best
wishes to continued success and achievement in his retirement.
