RESOLUTION NO. 10251
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT
TO THE ANIMAL CONTROL JOINT POWERS AUTHORITY AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell entered into a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) Agreement on July 5,
2000 creating the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell approved an Amendment to the Animal Control Joint Powers
Agreement on April I, 2003 ensuring that JP A member cities would not be responsible for increased
additional costs after the SV ACA Board of Directors approves their budget on or before June 30th, and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell approved the Second Restated and Amended Joint Exercise of
Powers Agreement Creating the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority on September 2,2003: and
WHEREAS, the SV ACA Board of Directors wishes to reinstate language limiting mid-year increases
in costs to member agencies not included in the Second Restated and Amended Joint Exercise of
Powers Agreement, thus allowing all the member cities to approve the Agreement and ensuring that
Campbell will have a voting member on their Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council authorize the Mayor to execute the
attached amendment to the Animal Control Joint Powers Authority (JPA) Agreement on behalf of the
City of Campbell.
