CC Ordinance 2016 ORDINANCE NO. 2016 BEING AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL REPEALING THE ORDINANCE FORMERLY ADOPTED FOR THE CURRENT HOUSING ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN IN PREP ARA TION FOR THE ADOPTION OF AN UPDA TED HOUSING ELEMENT. After notification and public hearing, as specified by law on the proposed amendments to the City of Campbell Housing Element, and after presentation by the Community Development Director, proponents and opponents, the City Council did determine that the repeal of this Ordinance is warranted based upon the following findings: 1. The City has completed a comprehensive update of the Housing Element that is required by State law to be adopted by December 31, 2001. 2. The current Housing Element was adopted by the City Council on March 3, 1992. Based upon the foregoing findings of fact, the City Council further finds and concludes that: 1. The existing Housing Element must be repealed in order to adopt a Resolution to approve the 2001- 2006 Housing Element. 2. The Planning Commission of the City of Campbell recommends that the City Council adopt an Ordinance to repeal the ordinance that enacted the current Housing Element in preparation for the adoption of the 2001-2006 Housing Element. The City Council of the City of Campbell does ordain as follows: SECTION ONE: That the Ordinance previously adopted for the City's Housing Element be repealed in preparation for the adoption of an Updated Housing Element. SECTION TWO: This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days following its passage and adoption and shall be published, one time within fifteen (15) days upon passage and adoption in the Campbell Express, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Campbell, County of Santa Clara.
