CC Resolution 10067 RESOLUTION NO. 10067 A RESOLUTION OF THE CAMPBELL CITY COUNCIL IN SUPPORT OF THE BALLOT MEASURE COMMITTING CERTAIN FUNDS FOR ROADWAY, BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS FOR THE NOVEMBER 2002 GENERAL ELECTION WHEREAS, on November 7,2000, Santa Clara County voters approved Measure A, a one-half of 1 % sales tax for 30 years from 2006 to 2036 for transit projects identified in the Valley Transportation Plan 2020 (VTP 2020); and WHEREAS, on December 14, 2000, the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) Board of Directors adopted the final version of VTP 2020 incorporating the new Measure A transit funds and, once again, renewed the commitment of specific State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and Federal Discretionary Funds as identified in VTP 2020 for roadway, bicycle and pedestrian projects and programs for the life of the transit tax from 2006 to 2036; and WHEREAS, this ballot measure places the VTA Board of Director's commitment of December 14, 2000 into an Ordinance; and WHEREAS, this measure does not raise taxes nor impact the operating budget of VT A. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Campbell City Council supports the ballot measure committing certain funds for roadway, bicycle and pedestrian projects and programs for the November 2002 General Election.
