A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING THE PROPOSED CONCEPTUAL DESIGN FOR THE IMPROVEMENT
OF WESTMONT A VENUE FROM SAN TOMAS AQUINO ROAD
TO THE WESTERN CITY LIMITS
WHEREAS, the conceptual layout for the Westmont Improvement Project has been
presented to Council for approval; and
WHEREAS, the design as presented requires dedication of public right of way from a
number of parcels along Westmont A venue in order to install the public improvements as
proposed; and
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a $450,000 Safe Routes to School Grant for the
installation of the sidewalks, curbs and gutters, accessibility ramps, bike lanes and a traffic
signal; and
WHEREAS, it would be prudent to move this project forward in order to take advantage
of the available grant funds and combine the SR2S improvements with the necessary pavement
rehabilitation needed for Westmont Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City will need to have the federal grant funds obligated and the contract
awarded for the Westmont Avenue Improvement Project by June 30, 2003;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell
that the Conceptual Design of the Westmont Avenue Improvement Project be approved; that the
Public Works Department is authorized to proceed with the Westmont Avenue Improvement
Project as discussed above; and that the Public Works Director and the City Clerk are authorized
to prepare and execute the necessary documents for the dedication and acceptance of the public
right of way needed to complete the Westmont Avenue Improvement Project.
