CC Resolution 10767 RESOLUTION NO. 10767 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN WHEREAS, The City Manager is required by Section 2.12.030 of the Campbell Municipal code to prepare and submit to the City Council recommendations for the reorganization of offices, departments, and positions which are considered to be in the best interest of efficient, effective and economical conduct of the municipal services provided by the City; and WHEREAS, Title 2, Section 2.16.020 of the Campbell Municipal Code provides that the City Council may, from time to time, by resolution, change the compensation of employees of said City, and may, by resolution, adopt salary and wage scales; and WHEREAS, a review has been conducted; and WHEREAS, an amendment to the current Classification and Salary Plan is needed to meet the requirements of Municipal Code Section 2.12.030. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby approve the reclassification of one Streets Maintenance Lead Worker position to Streets Maintenance Field Supervisor (Attachment C) as outlined in the Council Report, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby approve the new salary range for the position of Equipment Maintenance Supervisor as outlined in the Council Report, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby approve the elimination of the Streets Maintenance Supervisor management classification as outlined in the Council Report. Furtado, Mayor Anne Bybee, City Clerk Attachment C CITY OF CAMPBELL STREET MAINTENANCE FIELD SUPERVISOR DEFINITION Under direction supervises and participates in all maintenance activities of the Street Maintenance Section of the Public Works Department including pavement maintenance, signage, striping, street sweeping and sidewalk repair; and performs related work as required TYPICAL DUTIES Supervises the Street Maintenance Section of the Public Works Department; plans, organizes, assigns, evaluates and reports on the maintenance and construction of street improvements including pavement, sidewalks, storm sewers, striping, signage and related facilities; estimates and orders materials; prepares and assigns personnel by providing oral or written instructions; inspects the work of staff and contractors; supervises and provides training on equipment; assists with budget administration; maintains daily records and prepares maintenance schedules and routine reports and other performance information; investigates complaints and deals regularly with the general public; evaluates the performance of assigned staff; may be required to work weekends and holidays; performs other related duties as assigned. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS Education and Experience: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Five years of responsible experience in construction, repair, and maintenance of streets. Supervisory experience highly desirable. Knowledge of: Principles and practices of street construction and maintenance operations, sidewalk construction and repair, storm sewer maintenance, and signing and striping maintenance and installation; methods, tools, materials and equipment used in all phases of street and traffic control maintenance; basic supervisory principles and safe work practices; techniques of safe and effective traffic control. Ability to: Supervise and perform street maintenance activities; supervise and evaluate personnel; operate and maintain a variety of maintenance equipment; read and interpret plans and blueprints; prepare routine reports and maintain records; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships, including working with volunteers; deal effectively with the public. Possession of: Est. 5/07 Valid California Driver's License.
