A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH C. DAVID ROBINSON,
ARCHITECTS FOR HERITAGE THEATRE DESIGN AND AUTHORIZING PROCUREMENT
OF CONSTRUCTION SERVICES
WHEREAS, on March 6,2001, the City Council awarded a Consultant Services Agreement to C.
David Robinson, Architects, to design the Heritage Theatre Renovation Project; and
WHEREAS, on April 16, 2002, the City Council awarded a construction contract for the
renovation of the Heritage Theatre to Robert A. Bothman, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, staff has identified an opportunity to improve existing restroom design at a relatively
low cost; and
WHEREAS, C. David Robinson, Architects are currently under contract for improvements to the
Heritage Theatre and possess the unique knowledge and ability to complete the required additional
services; and
WHEREAS, on April 16, 2002, the City Council authorized staff to negotiate and execute an
agreement with Fugro and Associates for inspection and testing services; and
WHEREAS, Fugro and Associates has advised staff that their firm will be discontinuing
inspection and testing services; and
WHEREAS, staff anticipates consultant inspection services to exceed the amount originally
anticipated ($40,000);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby
authorizes the Public Works Director to execute a contract amendment with C. David Robinson,
Architects, for redesign of the Heritage Theatre restrooms in an amount not to exceed $22,500; and
procure additional specialized construction services to the extent needed to complete the construction of
the Heritage Theatre within the approved project budget.
