BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAMPBELL COMMENDING JUDY NADLER FOR
TWENTY FIVE YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE
TO THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA
WHEREAS, Judy Nadler has completed 2S years of public senlce to the City of Sallla Clara
and will be honored at a recognition dinner on November 22, 2002; and
WHEREAS, Judy Nadler began her career in public service as a volunteer member of the City
of Santa Clara's Board of Library Trustees, and was elected to the Santa Clara City Council in
1985 and served two terms, and was subsequently elected the first woman Mayor of the City of
Santa Clara in 1994 and served two terms; and
WHEREAS, Judy Nadler has represented the City of Santa Clara on various county, state and
national committees including the U. S. Conference of Mayors Electric Restructuring Task
Force and the State Task Force on Restructuring California's Libraries: and
WHEREAS, under Judy Nadler's leadership, the City of Santa Clara was awan.!ell the NatIonal
Civic League's prestigious All-America City designation in 2001; and
WHEREAS, Judy Nadler has served the citizens of the City of Santa Clara with dedicatIon,
commitment and enthusiasm, and has given unselfishly of her time for the benefit of others.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Campbell City Council commend Judy
Nadler on her accomplishments as volunteer, Councilmemher and Mayor for the City of S~lllLl
Clara, and congratulate her as she retires from 25 years of public service on December 10,
2002.
