A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING THE HERITAGE THEATRE FRONTAGE IMPROVEMENTS AND
PUBLIC ART; DIRECTING STAFF TO PROCEED WITH DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
OF THE IMPROVEMENTS; AND AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
AGREEMENT WITH CORK MARCHESCHI FOR DESIGN, FABRICATION
AND INSTALLATION OF PUBLIC ART
WHEREAS, on April 16, 2002, the City Council awarded a construction contract to Robert A.
Bothman, Inc. for the construction of the Heritage Theatre Renovation Project; and
WHEREAS, on April 16, 2002, the City Council authorized an amendment to the consultant
design services contract for design of the frontage improvements and incorporation of the public art
component; and
WHEREAS, the final conceptual design has been prepared and reviewed by the Council's
Community Center Subcommittee, and also by the Civic Improvement Commission; and
WHEREAS, additional funds are necessary in order to fabricate and install the public art; and
WHEREAS, these additional funds are anticipated to be available from the existing project
contingency;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby approves the Heritage
Theatre Frontage Improvements and Public Art, directs staff to proceed with the design and construction
of the improvements, and authorizes the Public Works Director to execute an amendment to the
Agreement with Cork Marcheschi, Artist, in the amount of $18,000 for the fabrication and installation of
the public art.
