CC Resolution 9935 RESOLUTION NO. 9935 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF THE CITY'S DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE GOAL TO CALTRANS FOR 2001-2002 WHEREAS, the City may obtain Federal funds for the design and construction of the Darryl- Hamilton signal improvements; Harriet-McCoy signal installation; and Westmont sidewalk and signal improvements; and WHEREAS, Public Works staff has prepared a DBE plan for the City of Campbell and has determined an annual goal of25% for DBE participation in this project due to the qualified and registered DBE companies for some of the types of work in these projects within the City of Campbell and in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Alameda Counties; and WHEREAS, on October 2, 200 I, the DBE program was advertised in the Campbell Express and the CAL-SBA Entrepreneur to fulfill the 30-day public notice requirement as outlined in Section 9.4 of the Interim DBE Local Programs Procedures; and WHEREAS, the 45 day required public comment period will end on November 16,2001 and any comments will be presented to Council; and WHEREAS, a DBE certified contractor workshop is being hosted by Public Works staff on October 22, 2001; and WHEREAS, Public Works is asking City Council approval of the DBE Program; and WHEREAS, future Federal and State funded projects will require annual goals and goal setting methods to be determined and submitted prior to June I for each federal fiscal year beginning October 1 as required by the Local Assistance Procedures Manual; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby approves the revised Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program and goals for the current fiscal year, and that the City Council authorizes the City Engineer to set DBE goals for future Federal and State Funded projects in accordance with the procedures and methodology set forth by Caltrans in the Local Assistance Procedures Manual.
